Initially TI had started its business mainly focusing on Geophysical Services (1930s) but later it had diversified its business into engineering and manufacturing in electronics(1945s). From then TI focused primarily on various electronics business -  Military Electronics, Semiconductor business, Computer and Software and Industrial Controls, Sensor and Controls. Now, as part of new business strategy it divestiture some of its businesses and at present is focusing on  Semiconductor (Analog, Digital Signal Processing Digital Light Processing, Wireless) and Educational Technology.
